Edinburgh- a start

royal-botanic-garden

Since arriving in my new abode in the city of Edinburgh I haven’t had as much time to sit down and create some music as of yet but I found an hour or two to put this simple melodic piece together incorporating the Kalimba or thumb piano as the primary instrument. This piece also features a recording of birdsong I captured in the Edinburgh Botanic gardens which is a very peaceful place to visit with an array of impressive glass houses . The diversity of plant life there is awesome and almost too much to absorb in one visit. I am hoping to collect as many field recordings of this new city and it’s surrounding environs as I can over the coming months. It’s a vibrant place with a great sense of history around each corner. i feel at home already. The water sounds were recorded on the beach of my hometown of Bray before I left.  This is a brief post and one just to mark my arrival here.

PS, Good to see that George Hook lad finally being put in check…
